Lets Save Himalaya Spirituality By Keeping it Green and Clean

Talking about Hindu Spirituality, importance of “Himalaya” cannot be ignored. “Mount Himalaya” is “King of Mountains”. It has not just given India protection from wanderers from North but has made Indian climatic conditions wonderful due to its mighty stand as glorifying crown and witnessing changes of civilization from ancient times. Today India’s natural prosperity, flora, fauna, exotic herbs, natural resources and wonderful climate, perennial river like The Ganga and its tributaries plays important part in giving India a flourished civilization.

The Himalaya has been given supreme importance in Indian scriptures and mythology. Himalaya offers variety of attractions for different people. Some like to explore it for herbs and medicines. For adventure fanatics Himalaya offers river rafting, mountain climbing, wildlife camping etc. For Hindus Himalaya is regarded as paradise, abode of temples, saints and gurus. There are many Hindu pilgrimages situated in the lap of Himalaya. The temples like Amaranth, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri , Kailash Mansarovar etc. are highly revered, these temples are most holy places for Indians, and they all wish to pay visit at least once in their lifetime. The temples situated in higher altitudes are opened for limited time period, as it is mostly covered with snow and its not possible to visit these places, as natural calamities do occur because of heavy snowfall. For specified time period you can visit this places and will be surprised seeing faith of millions of pilgrims, who undertake such arduous journey to show their respect and belief. The devotees flock in groups and feels great in undertaking such difficult pilgrimage with so much of devotion and faith. The year long  tradition of traveling religious places is seen in every religion.

India has divergent religions and faiths, and offers pious destinations to different cultures from other parts of world, to explore its amazing cultural richness and embraces everyone with equality and humility.

Today, things are changing, it is said that Himalayan glaciers are melting very fast due to global warming, the speedily deforestation has endangered many species, cutting of mountains for constructions, building of dams, poaching etc has disturbed the ecological balance of Himalayan region. As a result Himalaya is rapidly losing its extensive vegetation, wildlife. due to rapid cutting of forest soil erosion is happening. government should take responsible steps to stop such things and make strict laws who violate the norms of nature. Should make law for controlled tourism in a systematic ways. Ban on tins, glass and plastic or other harmful wastes, to stop deposition of non biodegradable waste.

How can Hindu deities withstand so much of trash around their shrine, to flush the garbage, I think that’s why in the year 2013 heavy rain, cloudburst flooded the Himalaya, creating havoc and disaster and left thousands of family homeless and grief stricken.

Lets make our heritage rich, beautiful and safe for posterity. The spirituality doesn’t means making your inner-self purify but to keep the heritage of ancestors intact and not to litter around. Let the spirituality, virtues of healthy and peaceful  living  prevail every corner of the world. Otherwise no one can stop nature from retaliating.
